… or something like that. There is a hint of fall in the air. There seems to be a few leaves starting to fall and the kids are back in school.
September and the living is easy…
September 2, 2009 by teknojungeWhere did it go?
June 17, 2009 by teknojungeTime has really flown. It has been over half a year since I posted anything on this site. I had every intention when I started this page to post a little more often than I have. Real Life seemed to have intervened or I have been lazy. You can take your pick. Six Months have flown by, where did it go? Oh well, on with the show.

Hoover Dam intake towers
Here is a picture from my vacation to Los Vegas from a couple of years ago. It is a picture of the intake towers for Hoover Dam. I think the Art Deco design is great.
Christmas is coming
December 18, 2008 by teknojungeThis reminds me of some of my family I haven’t seen for a few years. Now I know where they hang out during Christmas.
The Election, what election?
November 14, 2008 by teknojungeWell, it has been a while since I have posted anything. I guess I could claim that I was too busy being involved with the election, work, whatever but I guess I have been lazy. I’ve been playing too much Scrabble, surfing the net, and plain just being a lazy slug when I haven’t been working or doing chores around the house. In my defense I will claim that it has been my busiest time of year at work with a lot of traveling. And we did move into the new place that did need some things done but I have noticed as I get older I don’t seem to want to do as much as I have in the past but I will press on. I resolve to write something on here a little bit more often. Who knows maybe someone will actually read it and leave a comment.
Now to say something about the election. What to say, hmm. OK, I think the president elect has some good ideas and good intentions but he just needs to remember the old saying that road to hell is paved with good intentions and not forget what this country was founded on. The United States is a federal form of government and we need to get back to that idea instead of this mega centralized government that wants to govern every aspect of your life from cradle to grave. God bless President-elect Obama. he has his work cut out to govern this country in these times of trials for the USA.
Fun with Mr. Saiga
August 15, 2008 by teknojungeI needed to burn a couple of vacations days or lose them so I decided to take off Thursday & Friday and catch up on some chores at the new house. Stain the deck and fence I pressure washed last weekend, cut grass, etc. You now, the stuff that is part of being a home owner.
But no, I decided when I got up this morning I was going to go play. I had bought a inexpensive scope from Sportsman Guide and I thought to myself why don’t I mount it on the Saiga 308 and see if it works. So I went down to the basement workshop and got it mounted with the AK mount I had bought a couple of months ago. It went on and I tightened it down and sighted it in with the laser thing-a-ma-jig and took it to the Charlie Elliott Wildlife area range not far from my house.
I started out at about 50 yards and it was shooting low and to left. So I played around and got it hitting the bulls eye and decided to move my target out to 100 yards. It surprised me how good the Saiga shot with just a 16″ barrel. I was talking with a couple of guys siting in their rifles for hunting season and they asked me what I was shooting since it didn’t look like it belonged on the 100 yard range. One guy was telling me he had just bedded the barrel along with a couple of other custimazations on his Remington. I laughed and said the only customising I could do to the AK design Saiga was maybe take a rock to it if it didn’t shoot accurately and try to adjust the barrel.
Below is the target I was using. The shots low and to the right were from 50 yards with some 147 grain FMJ Bosnian surplus I had just got. The others were with the GA. Arms 150 grain FMJ I had got at a show in the fall. Not bad shooting for a delicate piece of Russian equipment.

July 8, 2008 by teknojungeMove Completed!
June 23, 2008 by teknojungeWe have finally gotten settled into the new home in the country. We have been here a couple of weeks now and it is starting to fill like home to us. We finally got the picture hung over the fireplace and that seemed to really make home. We got the pod picked up out of the driveway last week and I finally got enough boxes out of the garage to get both cars in! What excitement!
It is quite an adjustment to make coming from a built up suburban community with all of the amenities to the nearest restaurant a good 12 miles away. This last week we have seen a deer and a couple of rabbits in the back yard. My wife saw a fox in the neighborhood when she was going to work the other morning. We were too late to plant a garden but we did set out a couple tomato plants, a jalapeno pepper, and some herbs. Now we have to hope the deer and rabbits don’t eat them.
The Clubhouse is moving!
May 8, 2008 by teknojungeThe title says it all. The wife and I have sold our house and are moving a little further away from the city. We are trying to find our little piece of heaven but if Atlanta follows true to form it will come out to find us. When I was growing up in Stone Mountain we where laughed at because we lived way out in the country. Of course that was before 4 million other people decided Atlanta was the place to be.Then I moved further out to Grayson and was surrounded by horse farms but that didn’t last as Atlanta kept growing. Now we are moving to Social Circle (love that name). I hope we have a little bit of peace before it all goes to hell. Stay tuned for picture of the new and improved Teknojunge’s Clubhouse coming the next month.

April 2, 2008 by teknojungeIt’s Spring Time
April 1, 2008 by teknojungeSpring time is here in Georgia and boy am I ready for it. Spring is beautiful this year on the piedmont. Everything is starting to bloom, the birds are singing, and I am sneezing! I can put up with a little sinus as long as it is this beautiful. It seems to me that winter really was a downer this year. I just do not like winter as much as the other 3 seasons. So good bye winter, it’s not you, I know its me, but we will both be happier apart.
